Music Theatre Dance Master Class
Involves the teaching of choreography to a number from a show. Accompaniment by CD. Sheet music available for a live pianist. Hour long class. Shows include, but are not limited to: SHREK THE MUSICAL, ANYTHING GOES, WICKED, HAIRSPRAY, THE PRODUCERS, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL, 42ND STREET.
Intensive Music Theatre Workshop
A specialty of mine. I first teach the students the lyrics and melody of a song. We then learn choreography to the song. Students really get a sense of combining ALL the elements together to achieve a desired product. The students must be their OWN accompaniment. I play the piano, they sing, and tell the story of the number through movement. A unique and extremely worthwhile experience. An hour and a half to two hours is a recommended timeframe for this class. Piano needed.
Dance Audition Master Class
A short dance combination is taught, and then critiqued as students are put through a simulated audition experience. Can be combined with a singing element. CD and/or Sheet Music.
Song Interpretation Master Class
Students sing individual songs and I work with them to improve their musicality, interpretive and storytelling skills, as well as general presentation. Small classes only 10 participating students max. Students must have sheet music in their key. Piano needed.
Scene Study Master Class
Using cold readings of actual audition sides, we learn about character, intention, plot, and execution of scenes. Theatre game warm up available.
Storytelling Workshop
For younger students (aged 8-11). We write together our own story, and then act it out. There can be a performance element to this workshop, where we rehearse what we’ve written and “put on our show”. Multi session recommended for the performance.
